Back-fills the wire harness? Oh yeah, “Coolant Migration”, kewl term. You know for certain your Karma sucks when your collant has migrated to your electrical system. Think I’ll go find a low point in my harness and install a drain.
Yeah, the whole coolant migration thing is scary for sure. I had never heard of that until I saw the picture you posted of the Jetta that was gutted during the repair.
There is a modification that is on the TDIClub.com that puts a hole in the middle of the connector plug to let the coolant drain instead of flowing back into the wiring harness. Not sure of the wicking actions and it may still happen.
