    J_Fix says:

An air wrench and clamps are two tools that provide a lot of mechanical force and possible approaches to try before cutting something up; the dumb/easy way usually is not worth the trouble in the future, but if your willing to the risk only for yourself then proceed at your own risk. This is an interesting recall, often engineers have to balance cost vs overall performance, I suppose they all agreed this fix would help lessen they beating on their reputation.
