Today we are doing a little bit of a modified “How VW Parts Fail” video. We are going to be looking at the top 5 failures on B6 Passats. Now these are not the only failures of the 2006-2011 Passats. There are plenty of other things that fail. So if I didn’t mention something in the video, that does not mean it was not an issue. Please let me know what you guys think of this style of video. A ton of you asked me for something like this. I want to do videos on more models if you guys are into it.

DSG Problems

VW DSG ProblemsToday on “How VW parts fail”, we are looking at the mechantronics unit from the 7 speed DSG transmission. This transmission is only found in the Jetta Hybrid in the US market. In the rest of world market, it is found in other drivetrain combinations as well. This is not the most common of VW issues, but it is pretty cool how it works. This is also a little different video because I have never taken one apart. It is great because we can all learn something on this video.

failed VW parts

2.0t Fuel pump control moduleToday I am back to chat about more failed Volkswagen parts. We are looking at how the fuel pump control module fails on 2.0t engines. This module is on 2.0t gas engines from 2006 until now. There may be other engines that have this, or a similar module, installed. They will basically all fail in the same way.

Ignition Coil Failure

Ignition Coil Failure

Today I am back to talk about more failing VW parts. We are looking at one of the most broken connectors I see, ignition coil connectors. More spesifically 2.0t ignition coil connectors. It may seem like a very simple failure, but connectors have a lot more going on than you may think. This was a really fun “How VW Parts Fail” video for me. I have repinned a ton of connectors in my career, and it is something I enjoy doing.

diverter valve failure

diverter valve failure

This is the 30th video in our “How VW Parts Fail” series. This is also a failing part that I get asked about all the time. We are looking at the failure of Volkswagen Diverter Valves. This part may also be called “Turbo Recirculation Valve”, “Turbo Cut-Off Valve” or even “Blow Off Valve”. We will also talk about how “Blow Off Valve” is not exactly wrong, but it’s not right either.
