Next up in our series on failing Volkswagen parts, we are looking at the 2.0t TSI High Pressure Fuel Pump failure. I will be using HPFP for short. This is a failure that I was replacing regularly a few years ago. Today we don’t see the failure rate that we did, but they come in from time to time. We have had cars driven in with a bad HPFP, as well as towed in. This is a part failure that may leave you stranded. The good thing is that no top end damage is done to the engine. The BPY 2.0t is a much more catastrophic failure. I did a video on BPY Cam follower and HPFP failure if you want to learn more.

Today we are looking at how the timing chain tensioner failed on the 2.0t TSI engine. The most common engine code is CCTA. This 2.0t was used in almost all VW models from 2008 and up. While my shop has not seen a super high failure rate, we have seen a good amount. Unlike many parts, the failure of this chain tensioner can cause catastrophic engine damage. Also a shout out to Apex Tuning. They saved a few of the tensioners for me, so I can do this video for you.

Happy Tuesday everyone. Today we are back talking about failed VW parts. This time we are looking at the failure of the 2.0t TSI Positive Crankcase Vent Valve, or PCV. This is a part that can cause some crazy things to happen. PCV used to be a simple little valve that was replaced at maintenance intervals. Now it is a complex assembly.

VW 2.0 TSI intake manifold failure is SUPER common. In fact they have a warranty extension on them. But how exactly do these intake manifold fail? Join me today as we look at some ways the CCTA intake manifolds fail. This is not only an VW issue, but an Audi issue as well. It has been well documented that many cars even get multiple manifolds replaced. Since this video came out, VW has updated the 2.0t TSI intake manifold. It how has a metal control arm, and a few other changes. I did a video about it if you want to learn more.
