How To Wire Electric Cooling Fans with Crimp Connections
Wiring electric cooling fans is almost a must for a VR6 turbo build. Not only will it move more air, but it cleans up the engine bay. In the last cooling fan video we learned the theory behind wiring cooling fans. I walked you through the wiring diagram to understand how I made my cooling fans work.
Today we are looking at how to wire the fans to make them work. You can use several methods to make these wiring connections. If you would rather solider, then solider on. I typically use the crimp connection method as it is the factory recommended process for making wiring repairs. When done properly, it is a very strong way to make wiring connections.

How are you mounting the fan? I really need to upgrade mine for more airflow. Ive also considered installing some cold-air intakes.
They are mounted on a shroud from Swoops. I bought it used
Hi Charles
I have a vr6t setup running a 35/70 turbo with water cooling. I used the throttle body coolant hoses to direct coolant through the turbo as I live in Australia and it doesn’t get cold here enough to worry about preheating inlet air temps.
Can you do a piece on how to plumb in the turbo on the cooling system effectively as my setup isn’t that effective. It also runs hot around 90deg C just cruising.
Thanks
Colin
Very good video on installing fans
