Down Internet, means fun and prizes today!

Hey folks!!!
Well, the web is down at work. I had a really great post about tires all ready to go, but it went in to limbo. Since I “ain’t got no internet” I can’t retrieve it.

The cool thing is, I can still post from my phone(thank you wordpress app). The bad part is that it is really limited.

So how about we open up the comments and get to know each other a little better. How about this format,
name
first car
current car
favorite car you have owned
favorite song to sing while you drive
if you could drive anywhere in the world where would it be
favorite road trip of all time
other than cars, what are some hobbies you have

So mine would be

Charles

My first car was a 1995 Jeep Wrangler it was red and awesome

My current car is a 2005 VW Passat Wagon.

My favorite car that I have owned we my Integra GS-R. I have loved all my cars but one.

Favorite song is really tough. Right now is would be White Mystery by Minus The Bear.

I think I would love to drive on any racetrack, but Nürburgring at the top of my list!

Most of my road trips I am by myself which stinks. I would say the most memorable one was, my wife(girl friend at the time) drove to Wisconsin to go snowboarding. It was a crazy blizzard the whole way there! Still had a blast.

Other than cars, I am really really into craft beer. I have become a hoppy beer guy over the last year or so. I have met some great folks in the local beer community. I also do some home brewing. I wish I had more time to do it.

If you want to add anything feel free!! AND if we can get say 20 different people to post the list above, I will send a VW prize package. How about a T-shirt, water bottle key chain, and maybe something else cool!

Ok, so spread the word! When 20 people post a comment like I did I will pick someone at random!

My first car was a 1979 Ford LTD that my grandfather gave me. If I stomped on the gas pedal, I could literally watch the fuel gauge go down!

My current car is a silver 2003 VW Jetta 1.8T.

My favorite car … that is tough. For different reasons I love my 1.8T and I loved the 2006 VW Jetta TDI we had. The 2006 had the DSG transmission, which is nothing short of awesome. But I’ll probably have to choose the 2003.

Favorite song to sing while you drive … hmm… also tough. I don’t sing much and I don’t listen to music very often. I could probably name only a few songs anyway. 🙂 I’ll go with “Summertime” by Brother Love. See http://www.brotherloverocks.com/music.php

If I could drive anywhere in the world, I would drive everywhere in the world. I would start in the southern tip of Chile, South America, and I would drive to Alaska, then cross the Bering Strait to Russia. Then I would drive to across Africa, then up to Scotland. And I would cover everywhere inbetween. Such a trip would take a couple years, I’m sure.

My favorite road trip of all time is the one I took in 2007. In April or May of that year, Hannah & I flew to Munich, Germany, then drove to Füssen, Vaduz, Interlaken, Innsbruck, Mittenwald, and back to Munich. All in 1 week. I took a GPS, but it didn’t have maps in it – it was only useful as a compass and an arrow that pointed to the next destination. If I’ve never told you about that trip, I should tell you about it sometime.

Other than cars, I enjoy watching movies and geocaching.

My first car was a 1977 Ford Pinto station wagon… that had been in a flood at some point. Still had some mud stains even…

Currently driving a lot of things.. ’99 Mustang GT & ’05 Golf TDI are the 4 wheeled ones…

The favorites are the ones I still have and I might even lean to the TDI. Love road trips and it’s great for that. Mustang is great fun though!

Favorite song? How about favorite artist at least… David Francey. Heard him for the first time on one of the road trips in the TDI when we were in Nova Scotia.

If I could drive anywhere in the world?? At this point my bucket list includes a motorcycle ride from my home in NC to Alaska and then back through Canada. Currently looking into some motorcycle tours in Europe though…

Favorite road trip so far was the first trip from NC to Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. It’s one of my favorite places in the world.

Other than cars I’m somewhat addicted to motorcycles.. Limiting myself to 3 right now but have my eye on a new Honda expected out later this year. What else? Beer but stouts as opposed to Charles’ love of the hoppy stuff. And I’m actually looking forward to doing some landscaping in our yard this summer. Oh yeah.. definitely a movie nut having worked at a video store for 10 years from high school through college and even into my professional career.

My first car was a hand-me-down 1986 or ’87 Chevy Astrovan that my dad had previously used for work. It had no insulation behind the two front seats and only two speakers. I had to give it up when one of the pistons finally locked up in the cylinder.

My current car would have to be the Mistubishi Lancer Sportback that my wife actually drives. We’re currently a one car family. That car has a mustache on the front. 🙂

My favorite car I have owned was my 1998 Ford Escort ZX2. It was a zippy little stick shift that died in a terrible accident. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.

My favorite song to sing while I drive is anything sung by Chris Cornell. I feel comfortable in his vocal range, though I’m sure I don’t sound nearly as good as he does!

If I could drive anywhere in the world, I’d have to say somewhere in Montana, just because I’d like to be back there again.

My favorite road trip of all time would have to be the tour of Ohio zoos I took with my wife a few years ago. We saw a lot of cool animals and got to spend a lot of time together.

Cars aren’t a big hobby of mine, although I can definitely appreciate a nice car. Most of my time is taken up by school right now, but I really enjoy craft beer. I’d like to get into homebrewing like you, Charles!

first car: 85 Ford Tempo. It was a piece of crap, but someone gave it to me for free. I had to constantly give it gas or it would die. Imagine how stupid I looked at a red light revvving my engine in a powder blue Tempo. I bet people thought I was trying to race them in that aweful car

    current car: 2008 Nissan Frontier

favorite car you have owned: 2000 Honda Civic. Only because it was my first real adult purchase without my parents being involved.

favorite song to sing while you drive: Anything by Minus The Bear. I actully leave for work really early just so I can drive at my own pace and sing at the top of my lungs.

if you could drive anywhere in the world where would it be: Right now, I would drive back to IL. Im in need of stockpiling some IL beer. I want some Three Floyds and Two Brothers.

favorite road trip of all time: When my then boyfriend/now husband took me on a surprise trip to St Louis. St Louis sucks and everything he had planned was already closed for the winter, but it was the first time anyone ever planned a surprise trip for me. We spent a lot of time drinking and hanging out in the hotel.

other than cars, what are some hobbies you have: Chasing after crazy dogs and drinking craft beer. I take a lot of photos of crazy dogs and craft beer.

My first car was an old beat up ’85 Mazda B2000 pickup truck that burned oil like it was going out of style.
My current car is my little Eduardo, a ’04 Mitsubishi Lancer station wagon with an awesome mustache, so I can legitimately offer mustache rides 🙂
My favorite car, oh wow this is hard, humm I guess it would be toss up between my ’98 Thunderbird, ’92 Camaro, and ’86 Dodge Shelby Lancer. I have really loved every car I have owned, all 12 or 13 of them.
Favorite music to sing along to is anything up beat like LMFAO or Ke$ha, just fun pop up beat stuff.
Would love to drive around the mountain area of Europe on those beautiful winding roads.
Favorite road trip would probably be when my husband and I moved from North Carolina to Montana, we got to see some really cool places like Metropolis, and the Grand Tetons were so amazing.
Hobbies are a little lacking right now because work and school take up a lot of my time, but I like trying new craft beers and going to new breweries and taking walks to see new animals and find cool bugs.

First car: 1973 Chevy Nova 4-dr, 250cuin 6-L, 2-speed Turboglide trans. That car could not be broken no matter how hard you tried. And believe me, I sure tried. From 30mph I would shift to reverse and punch it to light up the rear tires in reverse, swing the back end around and then be going down the street backwards.

Current car: Modified 99 VW Passat 1.8t 5-sp and a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0

Favorite car you have owned: All of them. Each had something special about it.
