THIS Was the Source of The Suspension Noise, and The R32 was CHEAP!

One of the main reasons I got this car so cheap was the issues the front suspension was having. Noises, creaking, grinding from the suspension were all issues on the R32. Before tearing down the car to rebuild the engine, I wanted to diagnose the suspension noises. Today we take the suspension apart to figure out exactly what was causing the suspension noises. #R32 #Humblemechanic

The CHEAPEST R32 in the USA and Its ROUGH!

Today we add another R32 to the fleet. This is a 2004 R32, MK4 generation. I am pretty sure it was the cheapest R32 in the US. The car needs some work. In this video we walk through all the MK4 issues, do visual inspections on the engine, suspension, brakes. Also plan for a fair amount of rust repair. At this exact moment the plan is for about 500WHP turbo setup. #R32 #Humblemechanic

Custom R32 Instrument Cluster (Faded Screen FIXED)

This is my FAVORITE car mod yet. The center screen in my instrument cluster was not working? So I removed the cluster, and sent it to have the faded screen repaired. I had a full color MFI installed. Now the cluster has the tons of options and settings, with out having to replace the instrument cluster. Gauges, needles, cluster LEDs, and more can all be changed. The cost will depend on what mods you want done to the cluster. The way mine is modified will cost you about $500. This may actually be cheaper than buying a new cluster. Also if you simply want the screen replaced with the style that came in the car, you’re looking at about $150.

How To Replace MK4 Engine Mount (DogBone Mount) Bushings ~ R32 Restoration

How To Replace M4 Engine Mount (DogBone Mount) Bushings In this video I show you how to replace engine mount / motor mount bushings in the DogBone on a MK4 R32. The process is similar on all mk4 cars including Audi TT. These bushings are often replaced due to wear causing excessive engine movement. Replacing engine / motor mounts is an easy DIY car upgrade. Also I have not noticed any additional NVH in the car, other than a slight amount with the A/C on. This may or may not be due to the pendulum mount bushings as I am always concerned about the A/C compressor

This DIY is pretty straight froward and requires only some basic hand tools. I have listed some tools below if you find you are missing anything. Be sure to follow the rest of the R32 restoration and rehab.

Thermostat Replacement and Cooling System Upgrades ~ R32 Restoration

Thermostat Replacement and Cooling System Upgrades for a 2004 VW R32. This thermostat replacement will cover all 24v VR6 engines. This will also cover thermostat housing replacement and coolant transfer pipe or CRACK PIPE. This thermostat was failing, but some how there was not a thermostat housing leak. This is an extremely common repair on many different Volkswagens. The repair seems to come in two forms, repairing a coolant leak, or fixing a check engine light. A VW with a check engine light? Surely you must be kidding! 😉

This DIY is pretty straight froward and requires only some basic hand tools. I have listed some tools below if you find you are missing anything. Be sure to follow the rest of the R32 restoration and rehab.
