Stage 2 Crackle Tune vs No Crackle Tune ~ Golf R

Stage 2 Crackle Tune vs No Crackle Tune ~ Golf R

Making your exhaust pop and crackle can be achieved with out a tune. However having your car tuned for a crackle, pops and bangs is much more effective. Today we look how tuning your ECM can make the exhaust crackle, pop or bang. Tuning the ECM simply to get pops and bangs is not an anti-lag system, but does it give you any performance gains? Is a crackle tune cool? Would you crackle tune your 4cyl engine? Should I keep the crackles? LOL

Thanks Charles! A great video. I have an Mk4 GTI VR6 24v with about 75k miles (!). I am the original owner and this car will only have one owner until I am gone from this earth. Several years ago I put on an AEM cold air intake, then perhaps 3 years ago I did Stage 1 tuning and shortly after replaced the entire OE exhaust with a real nice stainless steel exhaust with new down pipe w/ high flow catalytic converter, a 2.5″ exhaust line with Magna Flow resonator and muffler, with nice polished stainless steel exhaust tips, all of this from 42 Draft Designs. This car is sO loud and it absolutely does Snap! Crackle! and PoP!! I get loud pops and bangs when I shift up or down and when I ease off of the gas pedal… Great feeling to drive around!
